A Dementia Friend is someone who learns the simple ways they can support their loved ones or those in the community who are living with dementia. To become a Dementia Friend, one attends an informational session where they will learn what dementia is, tips for communicating with people who have dementia, and what it is like to live with the disease. This informational session is put on by Dementia Friends Minnesota, part of a global movement that was started by the Alzheimer’s Society in the United Kingdom to change the way people think, act, and talk about dementia.
Tuesday, September 17, 6:00-7:00 PM in the St. Joseph Room at church.
