Faith Formation Overview

St. Mary’s offers a variety of faith formation options that encourage and support children and families along our lifelong journey of faith.

Option 1: Wednesday Faith Formation

Youth in grades K-8 come to receive their catechetical instruction and build a sense of belonging to a Catholic community. This year our youth will gather once a month with their respective peers from 6:30-7:45 PM. For this year only we will not have in-person gatherings for preschoolers at the Wednesday program. The dates for the other grade levels can be viewed HERE

Option 2: Weekend Family Faith Formation

This family based program involves the whole family coming to the Parish Life Center, once a month for a gathering with peers and then continuing the learning at home each week the rest of the month. For the 2020/2021 year, the weekend program will be using the same curriculum as the other programs which include catechesis for parents as well as the youth. The gathering day at the parish will be on Sundays from 10:15 – 11:15 AM once each month. Families will gather for prayer, split up into age-like groups (no more than 10 in a group) for a lesson, then back together as a family for a small service project. Registration is required. All ages are welcome.

Weekend program meets Sundays 10:15 – 11:15 AM:

  • October 25
  • November 22
  • December 20
  • January 24
  • February 28
  • March 28

Option 3: Home Program

Parents are provided with lesson materials to teach their children how to live out the Catholic faith. If you are new to Home Program, please call the Faith Formation office to setup a twenty-minute orientation session with one of the coordinators.

Option 4: Catholic Day School

St. Mary’s Parish Life Center is home of Frassati Catholic Academy. It is there that students in grades Pre-K-8 receive their catechetical instruction along with their regular classes on a daily basis. For more information, visit the Frassati Catholic Academy website.

Sacramental Preparation

Preparation for the Sacraments is separate from our four Faith Formation programs. Enrollment in any of the above options is required before registering for First Reconciliation/Eucharist or Confirmation preparation. Visit the Sacrament portion of our website to learn more.

Pray as you GoListen Now
Pray as you go is a daily prayer session, designed to go with you wherever you go, to help you pray whenever you find time, but particularly while traveling to and from work, study, etc.

A new prayer session is produced every day of the working week and one session for the weekend. It is not a ‘Thought for the Day’, a sermon or a Bible-study, but rather a framework for your own prayer.

10-13 minutes, combines music, scripture and some questions for reflection.
