“….and a little child shall lead them” (IS 11:6)
Parents are the first step in a child’s formation. Investment in a child’s faith is an investment in the future of our church. Together with parents, our church community provides an opportunity for peer witness and catechetical instruction.
In the Wednesday Faith Formation programs, children will gain a sense of belonging through large and small group sessions, service projects and liturgical experiences.
Session times are:
4:15 – 5:30 PM (Open gym and snacks are provided prior to the start of the session.)
OR 6:30 – 7:45 pm
In the IFFD program, children spend most of their time learning from their parents. Parents are provided materials to help their child link the Sunday Gospel reading with their life and learn to KNOW, FOLLOW and SHARE the love of Jesus. Once each month the families gather from 10:15-11:45 AM at the Parish Life Center for fellowship and small group share time. Children gather with a catechist in peer groups to engage and practice their learning with one another. Parents engage with their own peers at the same time. Children ages 3-5 are part of the “Seeds” curriculum and kindergarteners are paired with first graders in the “Promise” level. Likewise, grades 2 and 3 are joined together for the “Good News” level and the 4-6 graders gather in the Venture program. We use the Gospel Weeklies curriculum from Pflaum publishing. The gathering usually takes place on the last Sunday of the month with the exception of holiday weekends. For current dates and a sample itinerary of the monthly gathering, click here.
Welcoming the Little Ones is for children age 1-5. Preschool and Kindergarten children are welcome in this program as well.
