St. Mary of the Lake School Alumni
St. Mary of the Lake School Alumni Association
From 1914-2014, St. Mary of the Lake School has provided Catholic families in the White Bear Lake area with quality education for children in grades K-8. This tradition of quality Catholic education will continue in the 2014-2015 school year with the creation of a White Bear Lake regional Catholic school – Frassati Catholic Academy. Frassati Catholic Academy is the only STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Math) elementary school in the Twin Cities area.
St. Mary of the Lake has an active alumni association, which is organized for the following purposes:
- Coordinate the interests and resources of members in support of Catholic education
- Keep alumni informed of current school activities and programs
- Serve alumni following graduation
The Alumni Association published an annual newsletter to keep alumni informed of happenings at the church, the school, and with fellow alumni.
To celebrate the school’s 100th anniversary, a Centennial Anniversary Book and DVD were produced. The 352-page book contains information about the who/what/where/why that led up to the building of the original school and the building changes which followed. The book lists the names of religious and lay staff obtained from school and CSJ records. There are class pictures with the names of all known graduates and classmates. The accompanying DVD includes interviews with over 70 alumni, priests, staff, and school families. Because of limited space at the school and St. Mary’s Parish Life Center (PLC) this treasury of memories is being given away FREE at the Parish Office and the Welcome Desk at church, and also by mail. Please contact the PLC at 651-429-7771 or 4690 Bald Eagle Ave., White Bear Lake, MN 55110 for your FREE copy.
